Black Mountain Living
Black Mountain is a quaint, cozy community that is just close enough to Kelowna's city center. Black Mountain offers a quiet, suburban community with plenty of townhomes to settle in.
One of the main features that Black Mountain is praised for is the fact that it allows you to live outside of the hustle and bustle of Kelowna, while still being within reach of many amenities and conveniences located within the city. If nature and the outdoor lifestyle are what you value, then Black Mountain has it in spades. In-between all of the cozy neighbourhoods and small-town shops, there are beautiful lakes and sprawling valleys that are nothing short of breathtaking.
Black Mountain is a relatively new suburb, with much of its growth happening in the last few decades. Black Mountain was originally a ranch owned by the Lequime family, who immigrated to the area from Bordeaux, France. By the late 19th century, the Lequime family owned many of the amenities in the area, including a hotel that was located in the L'Anse-au-Sable community. However, Black Mountains' large regional park is now all that remains of the Lequime family's legacy, as well as the L'Anse-au-Sable community.
